Camí de Cavalls

The “Camí de Cavalls” is a historic bridleway which dates back to the end of the Middle Ages. It offers the opportunity to discover the most beautiful scenery of Menorca, Mediterranean landscapes, sea views, gorges, flora, fauna. You will be able to discover the natural wealth and heritage of the island.

Hiking

It is a good idea to equip yourself properly with a rucksack, water, a bite to eat, good footwear and a hat. Don´t forget sunscreen. There are two starting points for the Camí de Cavalls from Cala Morell.

East Route. Takes you to La Vall, a protected Natural Area of Special Interest (ANEI) with dunes, a stream, wetlands and various protected bird species. This route is 4 Km long and takes about 2 hours. If you want to continue, once you arrive you can follow the LA VALL route within this ANEI. The route through this protected area covers about 12 Km in a return trip, about 5 hours. It is a broad pine valley marked out by two large mountain masses. It is one of the areas of the island with the greatest biodiversity. You could also do this trail another day starting out directly from La Vall.

West Route. Runs parallel to the spectacular cliffs that lead out of Cala Morell, after covering 7 Km, about 4 and a half hours walk, you reach Punta Nati projecting its historic lighthouse. Along with this route, you will be able to appreciate the originality and character the different traditional buildings provide this rural landscape.

Horse Trails

A great activity for novices as well as for skilled horse riders. About 3 Km from Cala Morell, at Son Àngel, you will be able to enjoy horse rides with all the family. The excursions are 1 hour long and the level and pace of each excursion will depend on the level of the riders.

Diving

Do you love the depths of the sea? Cala Morell outstands for its extraordinary transparent waters. Grab a mask, snorkel, fins and … dive in! Rocks, crabs, shrimps, limpets and a wide variety of different fish species can be seen in this colourful underwater world. For accomplished divers there are scuba dives departing from Ciutadella and regular excursions to the Cala Morell area.
